THE BACKSTORY

This year’s exhibition evolved out of a collaborative research project focusing on a selection of CEF historic and current plant specimens of interest to the artists.

Seeking to better understand the biology, etymology and growing habits of their plant subjects, the artists visited the Farm over several months to research, write, draw and paint their chosen plants.  Research findings were presented over Zoom to OSBA members in the spring, summer and autumn months of 2021.  The watercolour, coloured pencil and graphite artworks that you see here are the artistic results of their study.
